Under Ohio law, your Franklin County Auditor’s office is required to conduct a mass reappraisal of all real estate property in Franklin County every six years (sexennial reappraisal) to establish current and equitable property values for tax purposes. This process is currently underway and will be completed in 2023.
To ensure that the county’s appraised values are fair and accurate, the Auditor’s office is asking owners of commercial and industrial property currently appraised at $250,000 or more to complete the office’s commercial survey for each of their properties that meet the appraisal threshold by January 31, 2022.
Participation in this survey is voluntary and the office is gathering real estate market data from other sources in addition to the survey responses. However, the office relies on the local data provided by the county’s commercial and industrial property owners to help establish market guidelines for the appraisal of similar properties as part of the 2023 sexennial reappraisal.
